Week 8: The Devourer of Worlds

We’re setting our sights a little bigger this week.
Our subject… is… GALACTUS.
Galactus in the process of eating something.

If you are interested in participating, please follow these simple guidelines:
-Finished art should be in .JPG format.
-E-mail art to patrick@challengerscomics.com no later than 11:59pm Thursday evening.
-Along with your art, please include

3. If your art is for sale, the asking price (optional).

Corporate Branding

It is not outside of the realm of possibility that major corporations would sponsor super heroes. Iron Man is the mascot of Stark Industries. Booster Gold was sponsored by a dozen corporations. This week our band of courageous participants show their interpretation of possible corporate integration. Synergy, anyone?

Week 7: Corporate Iconography

Okay, I know I said this week’s theme wasn’t going to be as general as last week, and I did have a specific character in mind, but I had a different idea that I like more, so here it is:

Corporate Sponsorship of Super-Heroes.
For example, what would the Flash look like if he was sponsored by Nike?
You pick a hero (or villain) and a sponsor. Or multiple sponsors; your choice.
And yes, you can use the Flash/Nike if you like.

If you are interested in participating, please follow these simple guidelines:
-Finished art should be in .JPG format.
-E-mail art to patrick@challengerscomics.com no later than 11:59pm Thursday evening.
-Along with your art, please include
1. Your name, or the name you want the art credited to (mandatory).
2. A link to your website/DeviantArt page/blog, whatever you want to promote (optional).
3. If your art is for sale, the asking price (optional).

I Love You But I’ve Chosen Comics

At one time or another, we all have to choose…

All artist credits, descriptions and art prices (if applicable) are located on each individual piece’s permalink page (not in the slideshow). Most of the artists have links to their online portfolios/websites, so feel free to take a look at their other work. Thanks for looking.

Week 6

At Challengers we only hold 1 sale a year. One. It leads into Valentine’s Day and we call it I LOVE YOU BUT I’VE CHOSEN COMICS. And that, my friends, is also this week’s theme. I know it’s vague and general, but I have the utmost faith that you will all rise to the occasion.
…and next week I promise the subject will be far more specific.

IMAGE

This week’s theme was a very general “Image Comics.” Whatever that means to our participants; it’s a pretty broad landscape out there… And once again, all artist credits, descriptions and art prices (if applicable) are located on each individual piece’s permalink page (not in the slideshow). Most of the artists have links to their online portfolios/websites, so feel free to take a look at their other work. Thanks for looking.

Week 5: Image

The subject for this week’s Challengers ASSEMBLE! is Image Comics. Anything that falls under the Image umbrella. Any character/title/concept that Image has ever published.

Panel Recreation

This week our loyal Assemblers were asked to recreate a panel (with dialogue) from any comic book they read last week.

In an effort to keep this page streamlined, all artist credits, descriptions and art prices (if applicable) are located on each individual piece’s permalink page (not in the slideshow). Most of the artists have links to their online portfolios/websites, so feel free to take a look at their other work. Thanks for looking.

Week 4: Panel Recreation

Sometimes our topics will be very broad, such as “Batman.” This isn’t one of those times.

For this week’s Challengers ASSEMBLE!, take a panel from any comic you read last week and recreate/reinterpret it. And, it has to have dialogue. It doesn’t have to be a new comic; if you were re-reading Watchmen, that would count.
Please site the book and page number when you turn your art in.

If you are interested in participating, please follow these simple guidelines:
-Finished art should be in .JPG format.
-E-mail art to patrick@challengerscomics.com no later than Thursday evening.
-Along with your art, please include
1. Your name, or the name you want the art credited to (mandatory).
2. A link to your website/DeviantArt page/blog, whatever you want to promote (optional).
3. If your art is for sale, the asking price (optional).

Go to it!
